Love

Their forebidden trying to to give into the temptation. Starting at one another, they run as far as they can. Finially, finding their love, they come together.

-Kenzi

Celebration

In a world full of echoes
The sea of people crowd around
To hear the loud, energetic beating
of the drums.
No worries.
Just wild wonderful
Celebration.
With enraging inviduality
just people letting lose
and having a fun time.
-Brittany
Class of 2010

Insanity

It's so loud, so insane.
All the celebrating of the power of love.
Their exotic movements.
Souls coming out.
Showing individuality.
Consuming you in the music so rapidly.
Life sarming, cleansing their bodies.
Their form of relaxation.
Controlling their movement.
The intesity of the moment.
Complete insanity.

-Amy

The Rave

Music blares. She stares.
Our eyes glare.
We don't dare to speak, we just dance with the beat.
Moving our bodies we rave until the sun comes up.
She dances up and down.
We go round and round until the sound of the music plays no more.

The Promise Land

Shhhhh!
Hear that?
The beat of the drum and the loud music is the sweet sound of
the promise land.
The decked out beaches with margaritas and Brazilian women
makes a chill go down your spine.
That chill gives a message of parties, drugs, seduction, and
the high life.
The loud music draws the sexy women wanting more than a thrill.
The chill sending a message telling you to go to
the promise land.
-Chris

The rhythm is fast.
The dance is interpreted.
The bodies are hot.

What is Sickness?

What is sickness?
Sickness is crowded,
Knowing that you're in a village,
Full of people with pride...
Death faces with new born faces
In a tribal village, holding hands,
dancing.

The Sun goes down
The people come up
When the darkness falls
The fun begins
They come here for one reason
To be themselves
For if they don't
They will be ridiculed
So this, this their place of release is where they come
Hoping to be themselves

Real or Not

I am standing there.
It is pitch dark.
My eyes are closed; I can barely open them.
I cannot believe what I am seeing.
It looks like I am in a 10x6 size room
With 1000 people.
Everyone is weird looking.
Like their faces are all twisted and have two eyes,
though some have one. Many have 8.
Is this real or not?

-Freddie

My Family Tree

What's that, that sound...
It's the sound of my family's music.
Watching them dance and fall,
as they swirl down, you hear the sound
of laughter and joy.
Why is it really...
It is the leaves falling around the tree.

Temptations of The Night

The temptations of the night
Dancing, singing, laughing, shouting, smiling
The temptations were great
They were no longer in the dark
But now the night changes to light
The regret of the dark night
They are now seen

Faces smiles bodies
Many styles to go along
With the sound of bongo
Fun dancing music

Tribal

The sound of the drums,
And all the smiling faces,
In the night they dance together
Odd shapes, and different faces,
Crowded, but in the moment.
Beating on the drums
Partying and hanging around
What kind of people might this be?
Looks to me like a big tribal family.
-Jessica

Get Down

The drums are boomin’
The people are zoomin’
Through the street
Can you feel the beat?

The beat makes me wanna dance
Hop around without pants
But by law I can’t

Be the rhythm
Feel the rhyme
Soon ill be dancin’
Just give it a little time.

The Dance

The people are dancing in the street,
Dancing to the fast beat,
Please don’t take a seat,
Cause you’ll just get back on your feet.

Dancing all night,
Just barely any light,
To see the feet fight.

The beat of the drums fills the air,
There is dancing everywhere,
People dancing in pairs.

The people are dancing in the street,
Dancing to the fast beat,
Please don’t take a seat,
Cause you’ll just get back on your feet.

"We Like To Party"

Crazy music fills the air
And smiles appear on everyone there
Not a soul to be found
That’s not moved by this wonderful sound
Some taking chances
While others are busy dancing
Moonlight shines down on this street
And everyone’s on there feet
As the sun begins to rise
The party slowly dies
But don’t be sad my friend
Tomorrow we’ll do it all over again

Let's Fake A Smile

The festival they build for their release is fluttering with songs.

They reach right through you jerking a smile and cheap laugh.
For everyone looks so good from down here.

They are stuck drunken in the trance of notes, brainwashing away their worries.
It helps to forget it all. The bills, the starvation, and the poverty.

They all put it behind them, to share their inexpensive happiness.
The song of their soul plays closing their eyes.

They wake up and remember the reality. They say, “Lets fake it again.”

-Brittany

People dancing to the sound
Music playing to the best
Everybody joins in, all the rest
Some people like the music loud
They are happy, they are proud

All the people are in rhyme
As everyone enjoys their time.
-Jarod

A man claps his hand as another plays a beat. The man on the drums has the crowed stomping their feet. The one with a maraca runs through the street, as the man with the tambourine starts a different beat.

Confusion

Crazy, noisy, amazing confusion
A frantic rhythm in the beat of life
Always watching and listening
Emphasizing on each detail
Rushed and hurried
Faster and louder the night comes
Insanity encrypted in his pen
Madness in the sounds of the night
Crazy, noisy, amazing confusion

Love and Harmony

A guy
Beating a drum
Unhappy
Glum
Music in the air
Swaying of the hair
They are having fun
Without a care
Their eyes are crooked
They don’t look right
But yet it doesn’t
Affect their beautiful sight
It was meant to be
Not for you
And not for me
But for the picture Of Love & Harmon
-Seth

Drum Beats

Thump…Thump…Thump…
The beating sound of rhythm.
Temptation flairing, eyes stairing,
At the beat of drums.
Energy, temperature, rising higher
As the drums beat faster and faster.
Heartbeats pounding in different wavy tones.
The emotionless faces all expressing their emotions
through the eyes and reactions to the rhythm.
Click, click, click,
Is the sound of the time rolling by.
The clock says the show is over,
The eyes, drum beats, temperature, energy
All says the show will go on and end when
The rhythm stops.

The Dream

I think I woke up,
What is that sound,
It sounds beautiful,
I walked into the room,
The family is dancing and playing music,
The rhythm flows with the beat of my heart,
The beat of the washboards went with the pounding of my feet when I dance,
Then I woke up,
It was such a rhythmic dream.

A Staring Sound

I’m looked upon in a small village,
I can feel and hear their stares,
Organized madness in the streets,
The music speaks to me like a long lost friend,
The sound of the stares is silently loud,
Amongst all the people,
I am alone.

A Busy Day With The Music

Everyone grab a symbol, a symbol to play, a symbol to a song.

Play the beat loud and clear so that each and every soul can hear.

Each and every soul is gathered around, getting the beat down.

The heat from every person fills the area while every beat has its sound.

Give everyone’s feet a move from everyone’s beat.

Everyone keeps the beat going all day going, going, going, until its gone.
