About The Artist

The following pieces of writing were inspired by the artwork found above. The artist responsible is Dave Thomas. Thomas is a local artist and musician. He was raised in Oakhill, WV, educated at West Virginia Tech in Montgomery, WV, and now works and calls Charleston, WV home.

His artwork has been featured in many of Charleston's downtown art galleries, as well as residing in the homes of many of Charleston's private collectors. He plays percussion instruments, most often the washboard, for Charleston's own "Taste Like Chicken." He refers to himself as "that washboard guy who makes crazy art."

About The Authors

Located in Belle, WV at 1 Warrior Way, you will find Riverside High School. Inside those walls are some classes that will rock your socks. One class is particular is that of Heather McChesney.

In McChesney's class, you will learn about cultural diversity, who you are, and the writings of various authors. One will also learn the importance of respect, how to express yourself, the imporance of education, the results of ignorance, and how the past influences the present.
